THE STANDARDS AND VALUES OF WELLBEING LANCASHIRE MEMBERSHIP

1. Work Within Your Area of Practice

  • You must only deliver services in the area you have appropriate knowledge, skills, and experience in.
  • You must keep a record of relevant continuous professional development
  • You must keep up to date and follow guidance and requirements relevant to your area of service delivery.

2. Respect Confidentiality

  • You must only disclose confidential information if:
  • It’s in the *service user’s best interests
  • It’s in the public’s best interests
  • You have permission and it is legal to do so

3. Be Honest and Authentic

  • You must declare issues that could impair or influence your judgement or put others at risk.
  • You must declare any complaints or restrictions placed on you because of poor conduct or competence.
  • You must ensure that social media content has the same values as Wellbeing Lancashire and that of its partnerships and alliances.

4. Promote and Safeguard Service Users and Wellbeing Lancashire

  • You must keep relationships with service users and providers professional
  • You must not discriminate by allowing personal views affect the service you provide. You must also challenge other providers if you think they are discriminating against service users or others.
  • You must treat service users as individuals, respect their privacy and always seek consent.

5. Raising Concerns

  • You must report any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of service users and any inappropriate behaviour of wellbeing providers promptly and aptly.
  • You must follow up on concerns raised and escalate them if necessary.

6. Communication

  • You must listen to service users and take account of their wishes and needs.
  • You must work in partnership with other providers, sharing skills, knowledge, and experience where appropriate, for the benefit of the service users.
  • You must be polite and considerate and uphold the professional image and standards of Wellbeing Lancashire.

7. Multi-Level / Network Marketing and Homemade topical/ingested products are prohibited from Wellbeing Lancashire Membership

The nature of an MLM business is to compensate its distributors based on product sales they personally generate as well as the sales of other distributors whom they have introduced to the company. A distributor’s success depends upon the amount they sell and on developing an ever-expanding network of people who join the business.

Wellbeing Lancashire are not comfortable at having our members, partners or clients solicited or propositioned to join or add another business.

Wellbeing Lancashire does not have the capacity to ensure that homemade products used for application, ingestion or inhalation have met the relevant UK regulatory frameworks. Therefore, the sale of this type of products are prohibited from membership.

We do not judge the merit or question the legitimacy of such companies. Though it is possible for a representative from an MLM to simply sell the product or service without recruiting distributors or resellers, Wellbeing Lancashire has chosen not to engage valuable resources attempting to police this activity.

Therefore, any mention at Wellbeing Lancashire events or through business obtained as a Wellbeing Lancashire member, of such a company, its products, or of a business dependent on its products, is strictly prohibited.

8. Collaboration

If a project requires multiple providers, then you must seek other Wellbeing Lancashire members to work with to deliver the project.

9. Record Keeping

  • You must keep records that are accurate and clear for Wellbeing Lancashire services you provide.
  • You must keep records secure and protect them from loss, damage, theft, or inappropriate access.

10. Be Open

If something goes wrong during the provision of a service, you must:

  • Inform the service user and any other appropriate people
  • Apologise and put things right wherever possible
  • Document and record what happened

11. Documentation

Before your Wellbeing Lancashire membership is activated/renewed, you will need to provide the following information and documentation:

  • Area of Service Delivery
  • Proof of Certification/Qualification
  • Proof of Professional Liability and Indemnity Insurance (£5million + each)
  • DBS if you work alone or with vulnerable children and/or adults or to take part in certain public sector projects through Wellbeing Lancashire.

Upon request, you must also present relevant and up to date Continuous Professional Development work, which must be your own work and supported by evidence.

*Service Users may be a business, organisation, or an individual and services may be provided in different settings across the county as appropriate.
